Is making a web page for free for real? Yes, there are actually web sites that have a free service of you to select the web page template you want, the design, and the text and images that you want to put in your web page. Even the web hosting is free. But of course, it would be sub domain. It's good! If you are not good or you don't actually know how to create a web page, it's really a good deal to have a free web page designer that allows you to edit the web page content, free-hosted, with a sub-domain.

In case you like to have your own domain, you would need to pay for it.  But still, everything is a good deal.

Reporting Tool for Websites

There are a lot of tools for win32 applications (desktop applications). There are simple to complicated, tabular to graphical reports. A lot of reporting tools are available for win32 applications. But for websites, most developers tend to show simple script-based reports like data extracted from the business database and then shown as html text on the website. This is done by javascript, PHP and other front-end and back-end scripting tools.

For an Adobe PDF format report, the scripting tools are also in handy. Report Builder and Crystal Reports are the most used web reporting tools to execute data as Adobe PDF. These tools can show reports inside a flash based application (embedded), but not embedded in the website itself, meaning the report is part of the flash-based application, and the flash based application is embedded in the website. A cool scripting tool is FPDF, an open source reporting tool specifically for creating PDF reporting formats.

There are other reporting tools wherein you can actually embed the report in the website. InetSoft is created primarily as a web-base reporting tool. It has neat, web architecture components like buttons, edit boxes and radio buttons.

There are a lot more reporting tools for websites. All of them have different packages that is design to fit how one would like to have their report.

Yahoo Pingbox Offline Problem

I encountered a problem on Yahoo Pingbox wherein I am shown as offline even if I am online on YM (Yahoo Messanger)

Luckily, I saw a great answer and fix on the Yahoo Blog.

How to go online on Yahoo Pingbox:

1. Sign out on from YM, and from Yahoo's main page at http://www.yahoo.com/ (would open on new tab/window).
   
2. Sign in on Yahoo's main page.
   
3. After signing in, click this link http://edit.presence.msg.yahoo.com/edit/config/edit_identity?.set=1&.opi=0 (would open on new tab/window). Clicking the link would make you be shown as online on all the Yahoo sites on public.
   
4. You would only see a blank white page after clicking the link. Don't worry. That's okay.
5. Sign in on YM.
   

If you have already installed your Pingbox on your site, and your site is open, just click refresh and everything should be fine.

The hacker is using the name "Katherine Delaserna" or "Catherine", and maybe other more names.
