Why would one have a self-hosted blog, instead of a free subdomain blog?  There are some ideas on why one want a self-hosted blog. SAMPLE 1: Some people do blog because they want to. They love blogging and would want to customize their blog to their taste, even if it means putting out some amount of money every month. SAMPLE 2: Some people earns money online. And advertisers prefer a self-hosted blog over a blog that is freely hosted with a subdomain. If you would like to have a self-hosted blog, you would first need to a web hosting service. Web host, in a simple explanation, is like having a company's service to keep your blog or your website in their computer.

When you have your web host, you would need to either manually set-up or just choose which of the blog platform you want if there's a preset-up blog on the web host.  The next step is to give a title to your blog.  What title do you want?  What is the topic of your blog?  Personal, topic-related or a general blog, you should always give a "good title" to your blog. And the domain name should be related, or somewhat related to your title, meaning, your domain name should be a "good domain name".  What is a good domain name?  As earlier said, the domain name should be the same or related with your blog title.  It should be short if possible and can easily be remembered by other people.  It should also be related to the blog topic, if you are creating a blog with specific topic.
