R3 Aquaspeed Swimming Graduation 2017 - Ivan Huang

This summer 2017, I enrolled Ivan (going 9 years old at that time) at R3 Aquaspeed swimming lessons MCU. I enrolled him at basic 10 sessions, then he continued to the advance lessons learning the different strokes. Breast stroke, dolphin, demo, butterfly, floating (?)...

May 31, 2017 is their graduation day. Yes, they have a graduation for completing the swimming lessons. We had Jollibee food, photobooth session, raffle draws. The kids also had to show the parents what they learned.

I am so happy I enrolled him to swimming lessons. He can now swim. I think I'm kind of jealous of Ivan. I do not know how to swim!

Debit Cards for Kids

Nowadays, where ever we go, we usually use a debit card or a credit card to purchase items. The pros in using a plastic card instead of cold money is that, you don't need to bring lots of money. A few would be good. Bringing lots of money, opening your wallet in the public, making potential "bad people" to see and be magnetized from your "oh so many money" wallet, makes you vulnerable from hold-ups and even carnap, making your life in danger.

As a parent, we do wish our kids can bring a card instead of a cash.  But the problem is, the kid might overspend just like any adults holding a plastic card for purchase payment.  But again, as a parent, we like to monitor what our kids are buying.

Now, there are available debit cards for kids wherein you load the card with money from any account or digital location.  And with an Android or an iPhone application, you can check the balance and all the purchases made by your kids as a summary.  You would also know if your kid is making a purchase.  A text message alert would show up on your mobile phone, informing you how much your teen have spent in a certain store.

Ivan Improved His Coloring Skills

Just this morning, when Ivan arrived on his classroom, he quickly went to the toy section! But the teacher calls him to color a duck printed in a small bond paper. There's also a sample posted in the wall so the kids can see what color they should use. I guess Ivan saw the other kids try to color the duck as much as beautiful as it can be. I'm amazed! He actually tried to color the duck beautifully... well for a 4 year old kid. He really improved a lot! He tries to do things on how others do it. He's happy in school. He had his milk and drink his milk in bottle when it's time for nap time. He had actually slept yesterday! I hope he had he's nap today. I'm not so worried today seeing he loves being in school the whole day. But I'm still thinking he had actually really sleep.

Ivan is in Nursery Day Care!

I enrolled Ivan in Nursery regular morning class.  But on his 2nd day in school, we add xx.xxx.00 php to make him in Nursery Day Care.  He'll he in school 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.  Last three days in school, it's the so-called "adjustment days".  They only where in school up to 11:00 am.  They took lunch on about 10:00 am.  To early for lunch because they also had they snack time.

I kind of worried today.  Today is his 1st day (and 1st time) to be inside the school for whole day.  They would have snacks in the morning and in the afternoon. They would have lunch I guess 11:00 am to 12:00 pm.  They would have sleep/nap time 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm after brushing their teeth.  Morning class would be english, and chinese in the afternoon.

He's happy inside the classroom.  He does participate on singing and exercises.  He answers when the teacher ask something.

But I'm worried about his lunch and nap time.  I miss Ivan I think I would like to cry while writing this post!!!

He's studying in Philippine Cultural College (Annex).

The only baby and toddler stroller you would need... 1 to 2 children in 1 amazing stroller!

The phil & teds promenade stroller (2012) is an amazing stroller.

This ordinary-looking stroller is not that ordinary at all. It has different configuration depending on the needs of the parent:

click the image below for a larger view

It can hold 2 children in one amazing stroller.  This is not a twin stroller.  It holds a toddler and a baby, or a smaller toddler.  Of course, if the 2nd toddler becomes bigger, and would need to lie on the lower part of the stroller, the 1st toddler would be big enough to walk, and would not need a stroller anymore.

You want your toddlers to both lie flat, or 1 seating 1 lie flat, or both seating... all can be done.

How to decorate a baby room

Parents love their baby preciously that they even care to personalize the baby's room. Here's a little tip on how to decorate a baby room:

Put a canvass on the wall. You can personalize the canvass with your baby's name.

You would somehow need a coat rack so you have somewhere to hang your baby's towel, face towel, or clothes. Choose something that looks playful. Or maybe you can try to install the letters of the name of your baby on it.

Put a grow chart on your baby's bedroom. Your child would love to see how much he had grown month per month.

Plan on where you would put the pictures of your baby, from birth up to they grow older. Put into frame one picture from each important events, like when you first hold your baby after giving birth, 1st birthday, or school graduation.

Bath Tub!!!

Really, I want one. I had never bath in a bath tub before! Why I want one? Because I want to have fun with my little Ivan during our bath time. With my busy times, I want to relax. And it would be best to relax by having a warm dip in a bath tub, either alone, or have fun playing with rubber duckies with my son :)

This clawfoot tub will do. I'm sure both my son and I would fit inside the tub.

When should you announce a new baby is coming?

It's so common to mothers to have birth announcements to her friends. Usually, there would be a baby shower party. So when exactly should a new baby who is still in her mother's tummy be introduce?

There's no exact when should a party be thrown. But it's usually 4 to 2 months before the baby is scheduled to came out. Too early parties won't be that fun because the mother's tummy isn't that yet so obvious. And on baby shower parties, friends usually buy gifts according to the baby's gender.

The proud parents-to-be would also like to send invitation card with a theme that matches with the gender of their baby. So it's wise to get an OB consultation and get the gender of the baby. The gender can be determine starting on the 5th month of pregnancy. Although there are those who goes to the OB to check the baby's gender on the 4th month of pregnancy.

From Programming Books to Pre-School Books

When I was still working as a programmer, I do browse for books on the programming section on bookstores.  Although I don't really buy a book from the shelves, I do check out which technology has the most books, which programming language has more help availability in terms of books, etc.

But when I stopped working as a programmer, I instantly stopped checking out the shelves that once was one of my "should check them out" shelves.  Now, when I enter a bookstore, I never missed to go the the kid's section.  I do check on which toy or book to buy for my kid.  I only buy cheap items.  I don't buy those pricey books.

Has I forgotten how to program?  No, definitely not!  But I really don't have any plans on going back to that job.

Zoloft Dangerous For Pregnant Women

Pregnant women are advised not to take medicines unless prescribed by the physician. But what if a pregnant woman with anxiety problem, was prescribed with an anti-anxiety drug? Since it's prescribed by a licensed medical person, the pregnant woman would take the medicine.

There are pregnant women who are Zoloft users, now facing big problems after giving birth.  Their baby has congenital heart defects.  And while other babies are fortunately born in good condition with good health, exposure to the Zoloft drug makes the babies the risk to have heart problems twice compare to those who weren't exposed to the drug.

A Pfizer Zoloft 50 mg box (30 tablets)

Pregnant women, even on the early stages of pregnancy, should take precaution on which drug to take.  Zoloft is one serious effective drug for serious anxiety problem that can also causes serious problems to pregnant women after giving child birth.

In case of after giving child birth, and the baby has the side effect of Zoloft, one can try to reach and lawyer and file a Zoloft Lawsuit. Help is just on the other side.

Physicians should know that drugs like Zoloft may cause defects on the yet unborn child on the pregnant woman's womb.

Evil Barney on Barney VCDs for Babies and Kids!!!

Look at this video...

As my husband and I were browsing Barney VCDs on North Mall near Monumento, when this salesman was telling us to buy the Barney collection. When I check the back side of the cover, three out of about 20 titles were of "Barney is Evil" theme. And one of the three hate barney theme titles is the video above.

I told the salesman if there are any other Barney VCDs he's selling without those hate barney titles. He said that there are, but with less titles. I checked on another VCD back cover and luckily it's a clean Barney VCD, well with less titles. The guy still insisted us to buy on the VCD he's trying to sell to us.

I asked him, "If you have a child, would you make him watch those Barney titles with scary images?" He answered... "Mam, this VCD got more titles than that one." Then I asked him again. Then he kept quiet. Then I told him I'll just buy the Barney VCD I had selected.

What's wrong with the people who created those Barney VCDs. Can't they sort out what's good and bad for a child's eyes? Aren't they aware that kids might get scared with those kids of videos? Curse them and hope they'll die on the hands of THEIR evil Barney!

Fun in the Pool

I never knew there's such kind of pool floats lounges! It's not actually a lounge, but you can call it one. On the pool, if you have something to lay on, and maybe a table-like where you can put in your glass or sodas, it would be great. Check out the image below.

Lovely isn't? You can sit on there the whole afternoon. Just make sure the sun is not too hot to burn you. The set-up would also be great for pool parties.

I would love to make my baby "swim" in a pool. My baby loves water. And I'm he would love to see a pool full of water for him to play. And an inflatable baby seat for my baby would be perfect. Check the image below.

I'm sure my baby and I would have a lot of fun in the pool.

Baby Shower Ideas

A friend of mine is pregnant. And she's planning for a shower party. It's her first time. She's so excited about the baby. I'm excited too for her. She's been waiting for five months to become pregnant.

As early as three months old, she's preparing for the party. "It's going to be a big party for my son... errrr daughter... hmmmmmm...."

She's trying to have a themed party for her hmmmm... She wants to buy the giveaways and the decorations. Yes, she'll have giveaways!!! We found something on the Internet.

It's the peas in a pod baby shower!!! Sweet peas are green. Actually, the theme is more of a light green to suit the party (baby shower).

Just look at the salt and pepper shakers as giveaways. So cute! So adorable! With that color, anyone throwing the party wouldn't have the problem whether it's a he or a she.

Actually, I want one for myself =)
