Chinese Kasi... Part 1

I had heard this phrase "Chinese kasi" in an LBC outlet, wherein a Filipino (a local of the Philippines) answered that to the LBC personnel.

LBC personnel:  Hindi kumpleto yung address nito. (This address is not complete.)
Filipino guy: Chinese kasi (Because they are Chinese.)
LBC personnel:  Bakit, tinatanong ko ba kung anong lahi ng amo mo?  (Why, am I asking for the nationality of your employer?)
LBC personnel:  Wala akong pakialam kung anong lahi ng boss mo!  Bumalik ka sa boss mo at hingin yung kumpletong address.  Sabihin mo sa kanya na hindi kumpleto yung address na binigay nya.  (I don't care about the nationality of your boss!  Go back to your boss and ask for the complete address.  Tell them the address they supplied is not complete.)
Filipino guy:  Iwan ko dito yung papadala.  (I'll just leave the package here.)
LBC personnel:  Dalin mo yan!  (Bring it with you!)

The LBC personnel is friendly to me.  We're kind of friends, sharing about what's happening on our lives.  I met her in LBC branch  :)  Although she's super friendly to some of her customers including me, she's easily irritated to the low-level and close-minded customers (those terms came from her).

I was there when she and the "Chinese kasi" Filipino guy was on their heated conversation.  When the Filipino guy left the LBC to get the complete address from his "Chinese" boss, the LBC personnel and I talked about it.  She said she and his co-LBC staff had a checklist before of a "Chinese kasi" chart.  If there's anyone who said that phrase, they would put a check mark for the day on the chart!  By the way, she's a Filipina.

The Chinese boss is a Chinese from China... someone who can talk Fookien Chinese, Mandarin Chinese, can understand Taiwan Chinese, can converse in Tagalog but not really good in that language, and may know a little super simple English or may not know English at all.

When I leave the LBC branch after I sent my package, there were lots of customers inside, both Filipino and Chinese of the Philippines.  As I left, the Filipino guy walked in.  When it's his turn to send the package, the LBC personnel told him...

LBC personnel:  Next time wag kang magdadahilan sa akin ng "Chinese kasi".  Kumpletong address lang naman ang hinihingi ko.  Nakakahiya dun sa isang customer. Chinese yun.  Regular yun dito.  (Next time don't reason on that "Because they are Chinese."  I'm just asking for a complete address.  I was embarassed to the other customer.  She's a Chinese.  She's a regular here."

Filipino guy:  Sapakin ko pa sya eh.  (I can punch him.)

(What kind of a person are you.  I just told you that the address is not complete, then you answered me with a "Because they are Chinese."  You're working for your boss, you're his employee, then you are like that?  They give you salary.  If they are Chinese, so what.  The Chinese are better, they have a business, and you're just working for them!)

(The next time you'll send a package, don't you ever come back here on this branch if you're still like that.  You know, I actually don't care.  That video camera is open.  You want me to play it for you?)

After the conversation, after the Filipino guy's transaction, after he left the premisses, an old Chinese of the Philippines (considered as Tsinoy... not a half Filipino half Chinese, but a real Chinese) told the LBC personnel...

old Chinese guy:  Alam mo, bait ka.  (You know, you're a good person)
LBC personnel:  Ay thank you.  Pero hindi ako bait, sungit ako.  (Aw thanks.  But I'm not good, I'm short-tempered.)
old Chinese guy:  Hindi.  Bait ka.  (No, you're a good person.)
LBC personnel:  Sige na nga.  (Fine.)

Then they both laugh.

The "Chinese kasi" phrase becomes our regular joke.  And we're adding the "Pilipino kasi" for the Filipino version  :)

Stupid stupid stupid!!!

Am I into my mid-age?  I really find some people so stupid!  A few days ago, I was in KFC having my dinner.  There's a group of 3 office girls beside me.  The one that is so stupid is in her early 30 something.

The three of them ordered chicken strip combo with rice and drinks.  The chicken strips were swimming in gravy.  That 30 something lady noticed that one of the chicken strips has chicken hair.  She actually noticed it even before pouring lots of gravy over the chicken strips.

Lady: "Bababa muna ako. Papapalit ko muna itong chicken.  May buhok."
(I would go down first. I would ask for another strip. There's chicken hair."

Officemate 1: "Okay lang ba yun?"
(Would that be okay?)

Lady: "Oo. Okay lang yun noh!  Eh di ko pa naman nagagalaw eh."
(Yes.  It's okay!  I haven't touch it yet.)

The translation isn't perfect.  But it serves it's purpose  =)

Inside my mind, I was telling myself of how stupid this woman is.  She actually thought that she hadn't touch the chicken strip.  The moment she pour the gravy over the strips, she had already touched the food.

And she actually pointed on where the hair is.  It's only a small portion that she herself can just take it off.  Can't she give a little favor to the KFC crew and fix that simple problem herself.

Remember... the customer is not always correct.

PS: If the crew is really sick of such customer like her, she might be eating a hairless chicken strip from the garbage.

Exit Signs should not be colored RED

According to an expert (sorry I forgot who he is. He's a male. Not sure if Japanese or German or what.), exit signs should be colored green, not red. Why?

Red and green are the usual colors we see on signs. Red is a sign of emergency, panic and the like. Green on the other hand is not a sign of panic. In case of emergency, safety professionals usually reminds people to not panic. Panic can cause more harm like stampede and chaos that can leave many people wounded or cause death.

Red exit signs would probably set the mind of people into a panic state. In case of emergency, people might already be in panic. But red signs would make it more worse. Exit signs are put up to lead people to safety. When people panic, they would race to the emergency exit door without thinking. Green signs on the other hand, might not trigger the panic button on the people's mind.

Just look on the following signs...

Imagine yourself in an emergency situation. You see two exit signs but with different color?  The distance between running towards the emergency door with the red exit sign or to the emergency door with the green exit sign is perfectly the same.  On a panic mode, on what door do you think you would race to?

Most people would run towards the door with the red exit sign.  It doesn't mean that putting up a green exit sign would not make the people leave the premises when there's a fire or earthquake.  Red exit signs are too inviting and make people panic so much they would run towards it.

On traffic lights, isn't green light tells drivers to "soothe themselves and drive", and the red light tells them "hey there, stop and look out".

The study even shows that exit signs are better when it's in graphic than in word.

Would you kill one person to save a thousand?

Would you kill one person to save a thousand?

What's your answer? Yes? No? Can you kill a person? What if you are in a situation wherein you have to kill someone to save a thousand other people? Who would you kill?

Options that can be made:
  • Kill a person to save a thousand.
  • Just do nothing and see if a thousand people would die.
  • Kill yourself. You yourself counts as a person.
  • Kill the one who ordered you to choose. (not me! i didn't order you to!)

Attitudes that magnet guys but makes them hate you too...

Guys are attracted to girls for so many reasons.  There's a catch!  Guys love girls with an attitude that they actually hate.  It's a complicated thing to understand.  But here it goes...

Guys love a girl who talks strongly and does reason out.
On a date, guy finds it cool for a girl who can fight for her rights against issues. Strong will makes a girl so appealing to guys. But on a relationship, the guy would prefer the strong-willed girl to tame down and just go with the flow with him.

Guys love a girl who have always time for him.
A girl who would go and date with him after office hours is an ideal girl for a guy. A guy would love a girl who has always time for him. Party, mall, vacation... If the girl can accompany his guy, the guy would love the girl more. But the girl can only do all does things with his guy. Thinking of partying with her girl friends would be a no-no for most guys. And after marriage, the wife is expected to mutate into a "office-home-grocery" type of girl.

Sexy photos attracts men.
Are you sexy? Got any sexy photos uploaded on social networking sites like Facebook? Guys would love a sexy girl, having a sexy pose, with a sexy outfit. Try to be in a relationship with that guy and you won't be allowed to post such photos anymore.

Got a job that pays high? You're on the check list!
Guys love to have a girl with a big pay check. It's like looking up on a girl and praising her for her success. It doesn't actually mean that the guy is after a girl's money.  And a girl with big pay checks are usually open to go to vacations, malls and have fun with not much financial restrictions. And it's fun to be with a girl who's always on the go. But on marriage life, the guy might felt inferior because his wife is earning more than he does.

Guys love smart girls.
Guys love smart girls.  A smart girl makes a sexy girl.  Acting smart makes him want you to be his girlfriend or wife.  But being smart and acting smart as a wife, he might feel inferior and might think that you are just "acting up" again to show him who's the boss.  He would hope you would just be a normal girl.

Guys like girls who lives separately from her parents.
It's a guy thing to like a girl who is independent and choose to live separately from her parents.  The guy doesn't actually care why the girl lives alone on a rented condo or private room.  It's like a dream to have a girl who has her own flat, whether it's rented or not.  But after marriage and the guy plans to still live with his parents, but the girl doesn't want to, then it's a big mess!

A girl who's ready and wants to go out with him with his pals is way to cool!
There are girls who can party or who just gets along with their boyfriends even if his pals are around. Would her boyfriend go swimming, boxing, bowling or watching movies? Is it okay for her to be on his side and be tagged along as they have fun? Would the girl have fun too? If the answer is yes, then she's a perfect and cool girlfriend. But there are times when it's too much. And after marriage, a guy won't prefer his wife to go with him. He would feel like guarded. He would like to have fun with his pals without his wife, because it would only be his time away from work and responsibilities. He would like to feel relax with his pals.

Not all applies to all guys.  But one of these, I'm sure it does apply to a guy.  These are my opinions but some of these had already happened to some people I know.

It's fun to be on the dating and boyfriend-girlfriend relationship.  But when a guy and a girl settles down, things would change a lot.  It's still fun depending on how a married couple defines "fun" in a tied relationship.  But it would not be the "fun" like before.  It would be a different "fun" like having kids, sneaking out for a couples date on Valentine's Day or bringing the kids to a kiddie party.

On Treasure, Money and Jewelry...

Have you ever noticed, those action movies with big time thieves, they steal cash and all the jewelries they can get from the bank. It's either they announce a hold-up or dig from somewhere up to the safety deposit box area of the bank. And those other movies with treasure hunting, what are they looking -- gold bullion! Just imagine, the treasure hunt, the chest on the X mark, then gold inside... woahhhhhhhh!!!

Are all of these for real? You would say that it's not for real, I mean the gold treasures, and the digging of thieves. But you know what? There are actually ordinary citizens who accidentally dug treasures of antiques and gold on their backyard. What a luck! But some of them did surrender the treasures to the government. I'm not so sure if there are those who kept the treasures. And the thieves, I think there are actually accounts of thieves digging up to the insides of the bank. It's a one-time shot, a risk, but it's a lot of money.

If you found a chest of gold bullion on your property, would you surrender it to the government?  If you really need to feed your family and there's someone who said that you can join them and rob a bank, a one-time shot and it's all over, and guaranteed that no you would not be caught because it's an inside job, would you go?

On the robbery thing, I wouldn't never ever go.  But on the treasure, I would rather keep it hahaha.  Why would I surrender it, I found it on my property.  And as if the government would have good plans using the treasure hahaha...  I would rather do good things out of the treasure rather than giving it to the power-hungry politicians.  I just wish I would find a treasure on my property hahaha.  I think I'm dreaming.

Beware of the Accutane and Trasylol Drugs: Serious Side Effects

Although drugs are created to cure diseases, there can always be side effects that may occur depending on the person. Dizziness, sleepiness, diarrhea are some of the possible side effects a user may experience. If it's just a side effect that is temporary, then that's okay. It's just because of the chemical reaction of the drug substance with our body system. But if it's a serious side effect like stroke, heart disease, or the worst is death, then that is another story.

An Accutane Lawsuit has been filed by some of the unfortunate people who only wants to treat their acne. Just imagine, you would just like your acne to be cured, and you would be sick with Crohn’s Disease or with ulcerative colitis, both a type of digestive disease which affects the colon and the digestive tract. Now that's a serious side effect.

And the more serious one is the Trasylol which is to control the blood lose of a patient under surgery. There are patients who experience stroke, heart attack or kidney failure. There are even accounts of deaths because of Trasylol. If you know someone who got so ill because of this drug, you can tell him that he can file a Trasylol lawsuit.

Credit Cards Can Be Hack By RFID Readers!!!

Beware... some of the banks in the US are now issuing credit cards with an RFID chip hidden somewhere invisible in the credit card. I guess this is a security issue that the people living in developed countries are facing. I guess, and I'm hoping, that in Asia, it would take several years before they adapt the RFID technology.

What's the problem with RFID chips installed in credit cards? RFID stands for radio-frequency identification. If you don't know how it works, RFID works like bluetooth or infrared on our mobile phones. The information that an RFID gives is personal. But there's this anti-RFID invention called rfid wallet which prevents the information in the rfid-enabled cards inside the wallet from being stolen. So when someone holds a hand-held go-anywhere RFID reader, he won't be able to read your credit cards information.

How To Commit Suicide?

So if you're reading this post, you are probably one of the following:
  • Just bumped in and got curious.
  • A reader of my blog.
  • To kill some time: did a search on Google or any other search engine
  • or... you want to commit suicide and what to know how.
I do hope it's not the last one.

Anyways, here's an article on how to commit suicide, with graphics on what would happen if one commits suicide through a certain method.

The website to check is Suicide and Attempted Suicide: Methods and Consequences by Geo Stone. Here is the link to start reading...
http://www.suicidemethods.net/

There's a book published and the pictures are lesser.

The purpose of the book and website is not to tell people how to commit suicide, but rather show people what would happen if you commit suicide.

I'm happy to say that there are lots of people who have thought of suicide because of family neglect, problems on love life or any other reasons, but can't commit suicide because they know that they would end up so ugly after the suicide.

Would You Make Your Child Ride The School Bus?

Here's a CBS News Report about kids who had escaped from a drunk school bus driver.

Although you would not always meet a school bus driver like that, but would you make your child ride the school bus? Can you trust the bus driver to be responsible and to drive safely?

School bus drivers are just like nannies, there are good ones and there are the evil ones. Would you take chances?

Honestly, I don't trust nannies. Not that I hate them or I look down on them. I do lose my temper on my baby and I do hit him. And there are times that I hit him hard on his butt because he really is so naughty and so hard-headed. I do control my temper and try not to hit him. If I, his mother, do lose my temper and would like to hit him real hard, what more if it's someone not related to my baby? If I do lose my temper on my 2 year old baby, how more can my relatives control their temper on my baby, and how more can a non-relative and a total stranger control their temper on my baby.

On the bus drivers, can you trust him or her that he'll love your kid like how he love his own?

NuSkin Member Tactics To Get Referrals

I never knew this tactic of NuSkin exists! Does this NuSkin strategy of getting referral members still exist?

A member would tell a friend of a business venture she would like her friend to join, that this business is a sure hit, or there's some job that needs people to fill in... They wouldn't tell the friend what company, or what is exactly the position of the job. They would trick their friend into going somewhere, in a specified address. Then the friend would be shock that it's NuSkin, the company wherein you would pay an amount to be a member, get the equivalent products based on the membership fee (I think), and you sell. You also need to refer people to join under you to get referral fees.  And the main source of income from them is to refer new members, not to sell their products.

The blog post on the link above is year 2008, month of September.  So I don't know if that company still exist or whether the members still do that foul strategy to get referrals.  Other companies like them... I don't know if do that kind of strategy.

And now, I hope people are wiser, to join such company means they would sell the product and not just refer people.  And before joining, I hope people would ask and know the company name and details of the company before submitting and going to a company.

Philippines: Snatchers: Bloodied, Handcuffed Youth Forced to Lock Lips

I got this video on YouTube.

Video description found on YouTube: "3 snatchers caught and 2 of them forced to lock lips. God knows what happened off camera. At first I found it funny but it turned out awfully disturbing, disgusting and uncalled for."

I think caught snatchers are really treated badly like beaten by the police, or beaten by the people who help the victim, but not their moral.

Legion Movie Restricted Trailer

Legion movie poster

This is a movie I would love to watch. And this is the movie that Churches would hate the most. For the church, this movie would be worse than the Da Vinci Code.

Where do you hear that God would send his angels to exterminate the people on Earth?

Here's the restricted trailer of the movie Legion. It would be shown on January 22, 2010. Paul Bettany stars as Michael, the archangel who wants to save the people from God. Michael is trying to save an unborn baby that would save mankind. I can't wait to see the movie.

This is just a movie. I hope Christians would accept it as a movie. It's just a storyline. It even has a moral lesson to all: Be good or God might get too f*cked-up and twist your life.

Willie Revillame - Cory Aquino Issue

Here's the very controversial video of Willie Revillame about the funeral of Cory Aquino.

Dissecting what Willie said, it's just simply means that the show is a show to make people laugh. It's his job and the show's job to make their audience smile. But with the insert VTR of the funeral of Cory Aquino, people would be focused too on the insert VTR.

Willie is right on what he said, that if they want to show the funeral of Cory Aquino, then just show the funeral instead of the Wowowee show. And maybe he's affected too with the funeral, hmmmmmm maybe.

The only thing Willie did wrong is announcing in publicly, live. He could have just told the management during commercial breaks or when he's not on the spot. But did it live and a lot of people misunderstood him.

And I hope he just leave the insert VTR alone. He's not the management of the ABS-CBN. He doesn't have the right to just tell the management to take it off on an instant.

And Willie should know that without Cory Aquino, ABS-CBN would not exist, and he would not have a huge career.

Michael Jackson Is Dead. Now What?

I'm not watching TV so I don't know what's going on on the local news shows. I bet everything is about Michael Jackson, his will, his children, his being MJ of all time.

What about the Hayden Kho scandal?

But I think there are a lot more to report and a lot more to discuss on the senate, on TV news, etc. What about the schools with one teacher teaching 200 students? What about those neglected kids on the streets? What about increasing the salary of employees, like me hehehe...

Sa totoo lang, there are a lot of issues the world should give importance. Yeah, MJ is dead, now what?

Careless Whisper

I went to Trinoma yesterday. What do I hear? It's the very controversial Careless Whisper music being played on loop! I think I heard about 2 or 3 stores playing the song. But the craziest is Mister Donut. There's this guy (gay?) staff holding a placard about the store's sale. And as the music plays, he's dancing sexy! Every time someone passes by, he never failed to put a smile on them. And when you're passing by, you'll never fail to not notice him dancing!

The song. It's now a hit! I think George Michaels should be thankful to Dr. Hayden Kho and Miss Katrina Halili sex video scandal. People has been playing the song. I everyday here the song. And that makes me sing the song even if I'm home washing the dishes without me knowing!

Ok, here's the video and the lyrics...

Time can never mend the careless whispers of a good friend
To the heart and mind, ignorance is kind
there's no comfort in the truth
pain is all you'll find

Should've known better

I feel so unsure
as I take your hand and lead you to the dance floor
as the music dies, something in your eyes
calls to mind the silver screen
and all its sad good-byes

I'm never gonna dance again
guilty feet have got no rhythm
though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool

Should've known better than to cheat a friend
and waste the chance that I've been given
so I'm never gonna dance again
the way I danced with you

Time can never mend
the careless whispers of a good friend
to the heart and mind
ignorance is kind
there's no comfort in the truth
pain is all you'll find

I'm never gonna dance again
guilty feet have got no rhythm
though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool

Should've known better than to cheat a friend
and waste this chance that I've been given
so I'm never gonna dance again
the way I danced with you

Never without your love

Tonight the music seems so loud
I wish that we could lose this crowd
Maybe it's better this way
We'd hurt each other with the things we'd want to say

We could have been so good together
We could have lived this dance forever
But noone's gonna dance with me
Please stay

And I'm never gonna dance again
guilty feet have got no rhythm
though it's easy to pretend
I know you're not a fool

Should've known better than to cheat a friend
and waste the chance that I've been given
so I'm never gonna dance again
the way I danced with you

(Now that you're gone) Now that you're gone
(Now that you're gone) What I did's so wrong
that you had to leave me alone

Abner Afuang Pours Water on Hayden Kho Regarding Sex Scandal

I don't watch TV, super bihira lang. So this news shocks me about someone pouring a glass of water on the head of Hayden Kho.

I would like to react...
  • Bad bad Abner Afuang... he over-reacted. Also this is a free country, I think he should be a model to all kids, on not judging who's right and who's wrong, without being tried.
  • Bad bad bad bad bad Hayden Kho, kawawa naman all the girls na nivideo mo... GO TO HELL!!!
  • Go Katrina!!! Hinarap ang situation. On what she did, it's a really really really hard decision to make... to tell the world that it's her.

A New Form of Rape

I got this from an e-mail. True or not, it think it's better for us to be cautious, to be not too kind and go all the way helping someone. Let the authority or police do their job. Here's the letter...

=========================

**WARNING**

A NEW FORM OF RAPE!

(This is a true story)

The woman left the office after working hours and saw a little child crying on the road. Feeling pity for the child, she went to ask what happened.

The child said, 'I am lost. Can you take me home please?' Then the child gave her a slip of paper and tells the woman where the address is.The woman, being an average kind person who, didn't suspect anything took
the child there. And there when they arrived at the 'child's home', the kind hearted woman pressed the door bell and she was electrocuted as the bell was wired with high voltage, and fainted. The next day when she woke up, she found herself in an empty house up in the hills, naked.Condoms were all thrown around with semen flowing. There were at least about 20 condoms! She has not even seen her assailants. That's why nowadays crimes are targeted on kind people like her. Next time if the same situ ation occurs, never bring the child to the
intended place. If the child insists, then bring the child to the police station.Lost children are best to sent to police stations.

Please send this to all your female friends/colleagues, and your friends with girlfriends and friends with wives. It is better to receive this a thousand times than be a victim once!
