On Career, which is more important, bigger salary or gaining knowledge?
My employer had explained to me and told me that in a career, gaining knowledge is more important than bigger salary.
Here's the deal. Although you are paid with a smaller salary compare to others, you gain more knowledge with them. What the heck! So I got to say thank you to them? And they though I gained a lot of knowledge because I work in their company. How boastful.
My salary, although I shouldn't declare it here, it's 20,000 php per month, with an additional 5,000 php incentives per month because of a company I am expected to handle all request. So my salary is 25,000 php in total. I got no late and absent deduction. I also have no over time pay. It's a flat rate.
I think my friends are getting more than I do. I also think that many others are getting more than I do, with less work compare to mine.
I am a programmer. My job is to analyse the system they would assign to me, design and create the database, do the program and the reports, support the client for the software, and lastly... answer the phone at the office =p
I don't think we're analyzing simple systems. Ooops I forgot, once my boss told me, "they" would analyze the system, and I would do the program. Oh really, so you think analyzing a system is that easy. "Talking" about the system, and "analyzing" the system, is a different thing. If I don't need to analyze the system, then that means I don't need to think about the flow of the program that I would be doing, right?
Okay, so feeling ko, namamaliit ren ako sa work ko, really. If ever na boss ko nagreread nito, you are free to react. But be sure tama and straight to the point yung isasagot nyo sa akin, kasi oo lang ako ng oo =)
I gain additional knowledge where ever I work. It's simple. Sa pananalita ng boss ko, parang sa kanila lang ako naggain ng knowledge. Hindi po ako sa inyo pinakanaggain ng knowledge. Pero don't tell me you guys didn't learn something from me.
I have really good employers when it comes to being friends. But as employers, I don't think they are that ready yet. You shouldn't tell to your people that gaining knowledge is the reason why we should work. Mayaman kasi kayo. Ako hindi.
You go to people who are trying their best to look for a job, those who are in need of money to feed their family. Ask them whis is more important, getting bigger salary but with a job that is kind of boring, or gaining more knowledge with exciting job but with a salary that is smaller than those people who gets it bigger with the same kind of job.
If you are a newly graduate, or new to the career you are into, gaining knowledge is very important. But you get paid for what ever you do, and you gain knowledge for what ever you deliver to your employer. It should be balance.
I just want to say that getting a bigger salary is more important to me than gaining knowledge.

dapat talaga malaki na ang salary natin..presyo lang ng commodities nagtataas e..haayy
wow! dapat ipagtimpla mo ako ng coffee. i like it when my mother prepares coffee for me. mas trip ko yung iba magtitimpla kaysa sa sarili kong timpla. feeling ko pangit ako magtimpla ng coffee!!!!
