thanks , i got the same email and thought it was odd for the very same reasons, mainly the odd email address.
it was very odd too for them to send you something to put your social and other vitals on.
very much a scam
you opened the attachment they sent to you?
i looked at it ,so far so good.
I did have problems few weeks ago where they froze my account due to "odd" activity, when i started my ebay store. so it seemed it could be true.
i opened it then closed it when i saw it wanted so much personal info.
after i closed it i received a follow up to having to fill all info out.
so far so good,no crazy problems with my computer.
it's nice you instantly know that it's a scam. there are lots of people who got scammed from these kinds of emails. i think this is called "phishing", wherein a site or a program would be provided to get info from the victim.
There are store owners in multiply who got scammed through chat with fake buyers, edited their password and then require the victim to pay an amount of money, or else they'll delete the poor victim's account.
be careful with your ebay account
