Beware of the Laguna Fresh Buko Juice
(Philippines on ABS-CBN's XXX)
Vendors are selling these buko juice on sealed plastic cups. Most of us have already tried the buko juice on plastic cups, right? But beware of the buko juice being sold on the streets, particularly the Laguna Fresh Buko Juice.
Laguna Fresh Buko Juice hadn't passed the BFAD laws on preparing food standard. They have the following violation.
About the sealing of the plastic cups, they put the seal and dip the head of the cups in boiling water. This one, I don't know if illegal or not.
But the worse part is, some people are caught on camera searching for plastic cups of "Laguna Fresh Buko Juice" for "recycle" use. These plastic cups are to be washed by hand and ready for the next customer. I'm not even sure if they care to wash the cups with soap. So always crush plastic cups after use. And maybe crush or tear or put holes on styrofoam too after use.

Laguna Fresh Buko Juice hadn't passed the BFAD laws on preparing food standard. They have the following violation.
- "Magic Sugar" is used instead of sugar. The magic sugar is cheaper and yet sweeter. BFAD prohibits the use of magic sugar because it can cause cancer.
- There are no ingredients and no BFAD number printed on the plastic cups. BFAD requires the ingredients and the BFAD registration number be printed on all the food products.
- The water that is used for the buko juice can be contaminated. As I've remembered right, the water is coming from somewhere being filled to containers through a water hose. I think it's like a garden water hose. BFAD said it's an inappropriate way to get water for making any food.
