Glad To Be Globe

I got a lonely... lonely life.  Well at least that's what I felt!  And that was before.  Most of us got financial problems or family problems.  Worst, I got some financial problem and some family problem!  But that doesn't stop me from being alive.  Am I talking about suicide?  Not really.  But it felt like the end of the world when I got married.  Everything has changed, from being my mom's princess, to my husband's and parent-in-law's working carabao!

I was a programmer, until I need to let go of my work because of personal reasons.  I need to take care of my baby, be at home for him, but expected to produce money too.  What the!  Let's not talk about it.

Anyway, I ended up being serious on my online shop.  Needless to say, my online shop become successful after two tries of being an online seller.  I got lots of inquiries, through email and mostly through text messages.  This solves my loneliness problem because I get so occupied with my online shop and my kids.  I got no time for those itsy bitsy problems that would just make me unhappy.

But, as my online shop gets bigger, I got a billing statements ending up with more than 2,500 Philippine Peso per month because of text messages!  More inquires, more sales, bigger billing statement on my Globe!  But it's a blessing in disguise.  I am with Globe.  I am a loyal Globe subscriber.  And I guess Globe unintentionally heard my billing statement problem.

I would like to thank everyone who bought from my online shop.  Lucky Cow Shop won't be successful without all my loyal buyers, plus all the other buyers who trusted me.  I never thought my November 2012 sales would hit my minimum monthly sales target.  November is a dry season for Lucky Cow Shop.

I hope this December, it won't be a dry season, as December is not a season for my online shop.

Bogus Buyer Sent To Me By An Angel

August 24, 2011, I went to a company after someone had told me to drop by their office and bring 30 pieces of Magic Print Umbrellas. I never thought I would have a bogus buyer who would make me carry such heavy items. All the 30 pieces weighs about 10kg. Although I had rode a taxi, I still need to walk and carry the package. I am a small person. So carrying that weight is not that easy for me, especially that I had carried some other things with me.

I'm just so hyperactive that day. And there's this feeling that pushed me to go to the office even if I had a feeling that he's a bogus buyer.

I hope my online shop Lucky Cow Shop would always be in luck like this situation even if bogus buyers attempt their act.  I hope I would never meet another bogus buyer again.  I hope...

Me, My Ivan, And The Internet

My world "offline" has no social life... my baby, business, my baby, business, my baby, business... Non-stop almost 20 hours a day!  I got lots of friends (and even my relatives) who doesn't know that I am not a programmer anymore.  I am a mommy and an online seller.  So cool that I can take care of my baby and still earn descent amount of money.

Here's a peek of my online shop called Lucky Cow Shop.

I got lots of task on my online shop that I can't finish because of my baby.  His name is Ivan, a big baby going 3 years old this coming June.  Although he is so precious, little Ivan is a tech savvy.  He loves watching his favorite videos on the media player or online.  He loves playing with Adobe Photoshop and playing computer games!  Yes, you read it right!

So I only have a few hours to use the PC.  And the rest is through computer rentals!  I can only use our own PC during night time at about 12:00 am until I got tired up to 3:00 am or 7:00 am... or until little Ivan wakes up and it's his time to use the PC.

I have a lot of items not yet posted on my online shop. And I got tons of my Ivan's photos and videos that I hadn't edited for uploading and sharing purposes too.  I wanted to boast to the world how cool my son is. Any mommy would like to shout to the world how great her child is, right? So I need more time online.

I might be buying a laptop, maybe a netbook, so I can edit photos and videos while dining out, instead of renting a PC in internet cafe.  I am planning to get an internet broadband too.

What's my plan?  We have an extra room at the house that I can secretly hide and pretend that I'm not at home.  My little Ivan wouldn't know about it and I would be able to finish all the task.  It would be like a personal office.  Or maybe I would call it my secret office =)

The more task I would finish, the more time I can give to my child, the more income on my online shop, and I can have some meet-ups with old friends.  Hello social life!!!

Should Online Sellers Tag People on Their Products on Facebook?

I am an online seller.  I have my own site which is Lucky Cow Shop.  I have some products uploaded on Sulit.  I also have a Multiply account.  Most of my buyers came from Google search which I am so happy because I don't really need to go to forums, mingle with other girls just to get sales.  Buyers found me by searching on the Internet.

Later on, I found out that I'm so outdated.  There are actually online sellers who opt to sell through Facebook.  I later on decided to create one.  I didn't created a new account.  I created a page where people can hit the "like" button and be updated whenever I post something.

I didn't get sales out of my Facebook until I came to learn that I have to tag friends on the pictures.  I start tagging them, until I saw something in a forum that they don't like it when online sellers tag them with their products.

I started to feel shame and tag only myself, as one of the sellers is doing that strategy.  She tag herself so her friends can see what she's selling.  And tagging on photos must only be related to the person tagged, meaning if it's a photo that they would really want to see.

I felt myself, what do I feel when an online seller tags me with the photos of their product?  It actually feels like "unhappy" because the seller seems to advertise through my facebook account.

So I don't tag friends anymore.  I only tag myself.

A Successful Meet-Up With A New Client

I am very thankful for a new client, who bought 80 boxes of Leisure 18 Slimming Coffee Gold version.  She is a good client.  She paid in cash, bought all the said boxes, comes on time. 

I was so hesitant to do the meet-up since most meet-ups are not successful, meaning, out of 20 boxes, the buyer would only pay for 1 to 5 boxes in the discounted price.

Since it's 80 boxes, I'm so worried that she's a bogus buyer.  But she said she isn't.  I took the risk.  I thought she won't show up.  But she did.

Every stay-at-home mom wants a sideline to help her husband provide the needs of her family. On of the top sideline ideas of moms is to create her own jewelry and to sell it. How to start your own jewelry making business (business doesn't mean you need a shop)

1. Prepare yourself by checking out physical stores and online stores.  Get some ideas by observing the jewelries they sell.
2. If you don't know how to create a jewelry, enroll on a jewelry making class or seminar.  Sometimes, classes and seminars do have guides on where to get your jewelry making supplies.
3. Now that you know how to make one, list down the materials that you need, from the hook to the beads and everything that would be in your line of designs.
4. Create a few accessories to show your friends and neighbors.
5. Now you got a jewelry business.

But what about the selling and marketing? There are so many ways to tell the world on how to sell your very own created jewelries.
Social networking.  If you doesn't have a Facebook account, it's time to create one!  Upload your jewelries and tag your friends so they would be informed that you are on the selling business (or sideline).  Their friends might also see your creations.  That's free advertising.
Forums are one of the great ways to announce your intention.  If you are selling jewelries for female or even for male, the best forum to register and create a forum post is on female related forums.  Just make sure that you are allowed on such advertising.  Don't forget about creating a signature.  It's the signature that shows on every forum post and comment you make.
Email signature will gain customers too.  Just set it up and all the emails you send and forward would have your business information.
Create a website and post your creations.  If you don't want to buy a web host and a domain, you can create a free blog on Blogger or Wordpress and treat it as a website.
When you go to parties or meet-ups with your friends, make sure you wear a set of your creations.  It's the best way to tell them that you are wearing a set that you are proud of.  Your girlfriends might ask where you get the set. Then you announce, you started your jewelry business.  I'm sure they would ask to take a peek on the collections you have created.

Remember, it's a step by step process to start a jewelry making business/sideline, or any kind of money making business.  You just need to have patience on the steps that you would be doing.  A solid mind of believing that you are in the business is also a key factor to start a business of your own.

Why would one consider shopping online?

Online shopping is fun! I am an online seller. I do sale wholesale and retail items. Before I became an online seller, I do buy online items. Until now, I still buy online. I'm a busy person. Even if I know that I can go in a place and buy those stuff, I still buy them online.

Why would I consider buying online even if I can get it in a much much much cheaper price?

When you go out, you need to travel. Okay, travel might just cost a little depending on the location of the shop you would go. But when you go out and shop, you usually dine out since you're outside and... shopping can sometimes can make you really hungry. So, instead of saving those extra money, you used it up eating and buying extra items. You even pay more.

Does that makes sense?

On Selling Things - Alternative to no money

I had just read a new call center agent that is supposed to be regularized, but is having second thoughts whether to continue the shifting job or to just quit and help her boyfriend on their new food eatery business.

She wants to quit because she's bored and tired of her job, which is shifting schedule. She seems like a new graduate, or just someone who tried the call center agent life.

And when she quits, she'll be with her boyfriend and she'll not be bored. But the money their business is earning is not yet established. It's a new eatery. So what would she expect. And she knows that.

With her rants, I told her if she wants to switch places with my little complicated money making life hahaha. I know she wouldn't want to.

I asked her if she wants to sell things online or on her eatery. It's an extra money to lift the cost that she and her boyfriend are shouldering. And since she's in a call center, she have lots of potential customers.
