The 100,000 PHP Monthly Salary Opportunity

I was offered an interview in a company (I think a good one) with a 100,000 PHP monthly salary.  I'm not hired.  I was only invited for an interview.  I think, if I would like to grab that opportunity, I can.  I would leave the hurt that a previous employer had left on me.  I would forget how hard it is to act like a dummy in front of the clients when the boss is around.  I would accept the work of 5 or more programmers (as it can be compared to that), that I had hated before.  I would only accept and be firm... only if I am still single.

There are times when one have to weigh what's more important:  family or career.  Here it is again, the deadly question that was asked to me before.

I am a programmer (before).  I am an analyst (before).  I am a good programmer analyst.  I am better than others.  Programming is in my blood.  I hate to say this, but someone just killed that instinct on me.  But now, after recovering from the deadly company (because that's the only company that made me realized that I'm a no no in the programming world), I am now back to myself.

Delphi... I'm good at it.  Flex, PHP, C#... I need to refresh it.  Self-confidence... again... someone took it away from me, but now I'm back to normal.

I remember when applying on job opportunities when I would say to IT heads that were interviewing me, that I can learn a programming language easily no matter what it is.

...............................................

Now, I'm a certified online seller.  I own Lucky Cow Shop.  I maintain the site, do some optimization on it, took photos and edit it, advertise it, etc...  I only need to thank my online friends who had directly and indirectly helped me by teaching me some important notes.  I don't need to thank any of my employers or office mates for having this online shop.

This is how versatile I am.  I might be a very shy person, but I know, I'm kind of good in marketing.  I might me the one who was thought by many to be a "whore" like that, but I had been into the field that they didn't know I'm good at... programming.

...............................................

The opportunity... It's a once in a life time... maybe.  But choosing between family or career, I need to choose my family.

I would like to teach my son the correct English words.  I might not be good in English, but at least my son won't suffer the wrong English teaching of my husband and mother-in-law.

Once I heard my mother-in-law teaching Ivan "O papa" (which means letter "O" as in "papa").

I need to attend at my son when he's sick.  I wanted to be there.  I don't want him to suffer whole day without taking any medicines.  My mother-in-law waits for me to go home from work, late at night, before telling me that my son seems sick.  My mother-in-law can't speak Tagalog nor English.  She can go to the market and buy food, meat and vegetables.  But that's all for her Tagalog words.

...............................................

100,000 PHP, and maybe some bonuses and allowances, less the SS, PhilHealth, Pag-Ibig, Tax, transportation, shopping and going out with office mates, I wonder how much would be my take home salary.

My online shop... thanks very much to the buyers (both resellers and end buyers).  My shop is doing better and better.  I might not be getting a 100,000 PHP.  But the take home, less the travel, shipping, food, shopping... it's a good take home amount I guess.

...............................................

Although I'm still thinking of the offer, and the other offers I got from companies, I won't leave my online shop behind.  I won't close it down.

I am a programmer.  And now I am a full time online seller, earning more than my last salary, with all the cost and shopping deducted versus the salary with no deductions of whatsoever.

I am versatile.  And I hope no one would tried to kill it.  I work alone, on my own.  So those who oppose, those who thought that I am a fool, or those who thought that career must always comes first (even if I'm not that poor), leave me alone.
