My son is calling me by my nickname!
My mother-in-law and husband teaching my son to call me by my nickname! Now my son is calling me by my name!
Before, my son doesn't call me by my name. My mother-in-law (MIL) is teaching my son to call me "Duwa" (my nickname) whenever I came home. What's worst is my husband is teaching my son to call me "Duwa" and "Ti-Ya" (Chinese term for piggy)!!!
MIL went back to China. She'll be back after a month or two from today. My husband has been to eager to teach my son to call me "Duwa". And now, he's very successful. My son is calling me by my nickname! I argue with my husband about it. I explain to him that I heard other MIL and husband teaching their child to call them papa and mama. I never heard anyone teaching their child to call people in names!!!
Is it because they are from China that's why they doesn't have good manners? Yes, that's one thing!!! Then another thing is out of cuteness. It's really cute to hear a toddler calling other people by name. But it's not appropriate.
After some explanation, my son seems like in the rehabilitation. My husband is teaching my son to call me "mama" again. I am also teaching him to call me "mama" or "mommy". Now when he's crying, he still calls me "Duwa"! But little by little, he would recover.
