Gerry Mcnamara Flight 1549
All 155 Gerry Mcnamara Flight 1549 flight passengers miraculously survived in a should-be total airplance destruction. Instead of an airplane crash, the aircrew turned to southbound from a location near the George Washington Bridge. The plane glided to a river. The passengers were successfully rescued by water floats from the slowly sinking plane.
This is first and one of a kind airplane emergency landing. The entire crew of the Flight 1549 was awarded with the Master's Medal of the Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators.
