You're the 1, Goldilocks

Have you ever heard of "Goldilocks Kid" before? Well, I'm one girl you can call a "Goldilocks Kid". Or maybe, you can call my family a "Goldilocks Family".

I got some stories to tell, memorable and special ones, in chronological order.

Classic

I'm not sure if you guys had already tasted Brazo de Mercedes, but this one is a classic and so yummy. The white outer layer is soft and foamy, while the yellow filling inside is creamy.

This roll has been a personal favorite of my mother when I am still in elementary. She finds this roll so delicious and yummy that she buys a roll almost every week. And we don't get tired of eating every slice of it. Talk about being a Brazo de Mercedes addict!

My Mother, My Sister and I

You know the mother and daughter gap, and sister and sister gap? I got a problem before like that. My mother, my sister and I are not really close to each other. You know how teens behave.

One day, my mother told us to go shopping together on Grand Central Caloocan. After checking on some clothes and pants, my mother decided to treat us for something different. We had our brunch at Goldilocks. My mother ordered three Lumpiang Sariwa and softdrinks. It's my first time to dine-in at Goldilocks. It's my first time to taste a lumpiang sariwa Filipino style.

And I had a great time eating while discussing studies and grades and stuff with my mother and my sister. The bonding moment became a habit. And it started because we want to eat Goldilocks lumpiang sariwa in the mall.

My First Dinuguan

Would you believe that my first taste of Dinuguan was when I was in my early college years? Again, college years! Yes it's true.

It's December I would never forget. Someone had been so wise to buy and sell Goldilocks cakes and food at the market, as a short time business for the Christmas season. Her short time business is a success. And one of the "suki" buyers was my mother. She bought dinuguan for a difference. The verdict? We love the taste of it!

The Official Birthday Cake

We don't usually celebrate our birthdays with cakes. But at that time, my sister and I are already working. So every year, when it's our sister's birthday, we buy a cake. We tried the Goldilocks Black Forest. We never tried other flavor of cake on her birthdays. It has been the Black Forest every year for her birthday. Weird as you may call it.

Note, we only celebrate with a cake only when it's her birthday. We don't buy a cake for our other sister. It's like an instinct to buy a Black Forest on her birthday only. Part of the reason is because the fortunate sister has her birthday on about the middle of the year. Okay, we're weird.

My Ex-Boyfriend

My ex-boyfriend bought an Ube Cake from Goldilocks to "court" my family. It's my first Ube Cake. And I think it's the same case with my parents and sisters. Every guy should know that one should court her girlfriend's family. Or should I call it befriend. Unfortunately, he left. But I do remember him sometimes when I buy an Ube Cake. Hmmmm.......

And then, for a long period of time, I hadn't had any Goldilocks cakes and meals to fill me in. It is when I met my husband. I became too busy with my work, and with all the task I should prepare with our wedding. I am trying to save money at that time. I even don't take snacks at the office, even if I can hear my stomach shouting. A good office mate did treat me for snacks. Thanks to her.

But then...

Desert For The Sick Berry

I was pregnant for the first time. But I was admitted to the hospital after two weeks of blood dripping down there. On my 2nd day at the hospital, my sister bought a Window Cathedral for me, for a difference. Everybody was buying mamon! The mamons are for me and the guest. But the cathedral is just for me. Well about 1/4 of it. The other parts were eaten by my father who was also admitted on the same hospital. Some other fractions where eaten by my sisters.

Thank God my father is safe. He was on the ICU for several days. And thank God my baby is saved.

Craving for Sago Gulaman

At the start of my 4th month of pregnancy, I started to crave for a lot of foods. But the top 3 in no particular order of foods in my list are french fries, taco and Sago Gulaman.

The french fries and taco can be of any brand, can also be home-made. But the sago gulaman, it should be of Goldilocks. "Maarte dila ko eh". I think I'm having Goldilocks sago gulaman two times a week, for about three to four months. I would go to the mall just to buy that sago gulaman.

Now as I'm writing this blog, I'm craving for sago gulaman! But I promise and assure you, I'm not pregnant.

So, am I a certified Goldilocks Kid? All I can say is that... You're the 1 Goldilocks, because you made some part of my life become special and memorable.

guess what... pumunta ako yesterdays sa sm san lazaro with husband for his kaekekan. and ako, bumili ako ng sago gulaman. hanggang ngayon nagcracrave ako! naaddict na ata ako sa sago gulaman nila.
